浙江大学计算机辅助设计与图形学(CAD&CG)国家重点实验室
Computer Aided Design and Computer Graphics is a cross-disciplinary high-tech research area. The State Key Laboratory of CAD&CG at Zhejiang University was funded by the National Seventh Five-Year-Plan. It began its construction in 1989 and was approved to open to public by the State Education Commission in 1990.
The Lab focuses its research works on the fundamental theories, algorithms of CAD&CG as well as their applications in industry. It aims at putting a stand at the frontier of international academic field and striving for the original innovatory results. The Lab is to be constructed as a leading research institution in CAD&CG area with international influences, a base for fostering young talents, promoting academic exchanges and spreading high technologies.
In the past few years, with the support from departments of Computer Science, Mathematics and Mechanical Engineering, the Lab has undertaken a series of national research projects and international collaboration projects and gained numerous achievements, some were awarded national prizes. The research team of the Lab is creative and industrious. The Lab links closely with related institutions in CAD&CG in different countries including USA, Germany, United Kingdom and Japan. It was ranked one of the top-level State Key Labs of China by international journal《Science》.
The Lab has a good research environment with various facilities. It is full of academic atmosphere. Both domestic and foreign experts are welcome to carry on advanced research work in the Lab.
Prof.Pan Yunhe, Fellow of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, is the current chairman of the Laboratory Academic Committee. Prof.Bao Hujun is the current director of the Lab.
