The laboratory’s researches focus on the theory and technology of industrial control applications aiming to reduce the gap between the theory and practice, which always exists in the field of industrial control, so as to advance the promote the growth of the national economy. The research activities are focused on four areas: Control Theory, Instrumentation Technology, System Engineering and Optimization, and Robotics.

  State Key Laboratory of Industrial Control Technology is one of the first national high-tech research laboratories established with the support of World Bank Loans in 1989 and the approval of the State Planning Commission(SPC).It was officially open to the public after it passed a qualifying inspection by the SPC in September 1995.
